Tawa Paneer Masala by Bobly Rath using Pav Bhaji Masala

This wonderful recipe, using Veerappa Pav Bhaji Masala, has been submitted by Ms Bobly Rath.


Tawa paneer is a dry curry recipe made on tawa with Pav bhaji masala. It is generally made on streets as street food and may be served as starter cup appetiser. This is a simple and spicy dish which can be prepared within a few minutes.

I have used Veerappa pavbhaji masala for preparing the dish which is so flavourful spices.

Ingredients :

For roasting of paneer:
-300 gm paneer (cottage cheese)
-1/4 curd
-1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
-1/2 tsp red chilli powder
-1/4 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp coriander powder
-1/2 tsp garam masala
-1 tsp kasoori methi
-1 tsp oil
-1/4 tsp salt
-3 tsp oil for roasting
For preparing the tawa masala:
-2 tsp oil
-1 tsp butter
-1 tsp cumin seeds
-1 big size onion finely chopped
-1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
-1/2 cup chopped capsicum
-1/4 tsp turmeric powder
-1/2 tsp chilli powder
-1 tsp Veerappa pav bhaji masala
-Salt as per taste
-1/2 cup tomato puree
-1 cup water
-Some chopped coriander leaves

Method Of Preparation:


– Mix all ingredients for marinating the paneer.
-Add paneer cubes in it and mix it well and rest it for 20 minutes.

-Then heat a tawa and put oil in it and roast the marinated paneer till they become golden in colour.
-Keep them aside.

-Then in the same tawa put oil and butter in it and the add cumin seeds in it.

-When they crackle then add the chopped onion in it and fry till they become golden brown in colour and then add ginger garlic paste in it.

-When the smell of garlic has gone then add chopped capsicum in it.

-Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and Veerappa pav bhaji masala in it.

– Mix it well and then add tomato puree in it and cook till it becomes a little dry and then add water in it and allow it to boil.

– Then add the paneer cubes in it.
– Mix it well and again cook it for 2-3 minutes.

-Add chopped coriander leaves in it and switch off the flame.

-Now your Tawa paneer masala is ready.
-Serve hot with roti, Paratha or naan or as a starter dish by garnishing with some chopped coriander leaves.
